The Results Are In: Q1 2012 Apartment Transaction Report Presented by Joseph Bernard, LLC

2011 was an excellent year to be in the apartment industry and 2012 is showing no signs of slowing down. Positive changes are being seen across the board for apartment fundamentals. It seems all arrows are being pointed in the right direction.

We are pleased to announce that in the first quarter of 2012 we completed 43% of apartment transactions among other multifamily firms. 5 out of 10 investors chose to work with Joseph Bernard, LLC.

Here are some interesting statistics for the 1st quarter:

• 33 total transactions closed vs. 36 in Q1 2011 and 27 in Q1 2010.
• The average price per unit was up 11% from Q1 2011.
• 6.86% was the average cap rate, down from 7.07% of at the end of 2011.
• 77% of properties sold had 5-50 units.
