The city of Beaverton is located in Washington County, seven miles west of Portland in the Tualatin River Valley.  It is home to many attractive and well-planned neighborhoods and a vast amount of "Green Space".  With over 100 parks within the city limits, a park is located within a half mile of every home in Beaverton.  Residents of Beaverton enjoy easy access to a complete range of community services, including the Portland-Metro's west-side's largest shopping district, Beaverton Farmers Market, and dozens of churches serving all denominations.  

In December of 2004, the city and Washington County announced an "interim plan" which will lead Beaverton to becoming the second largest city in Oregon, second to only Portland.  More than 4,500 companies fuel the local economy in Beaverton.  A few of the leading employers include Intel, Nike, Inc., Volt Services Group, Tektronix Inc., Maxim Integrated Products Inc., Adidas America Inc., and Columbia Sportswear Inc.
